Today I went with Hannah's 5th grade class on a field trip to the Arizona Science Center. We had a great time! This is a museum that has tons of hands on exhibits. The kids loved it because there is plenty to do. We saw a presentation on the solar system in the planetarium. I was impressed at how much the kids knew about the planets. I felt like I was on a bad episode of "Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader?" Because, apparently I am not. It was a beautiful sunny day. We were able to have lunch on the lawn. We enjoyed smashed peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, made with love by Hannah. The sandwiches were literally like a pancake. But nothing tastes better on a field trip than a good ole PB & J. Then we went in to the IMAX theatre and saw a movie "Under the Sea" in 3-D. It was very cool! However, there was a bit of a political agenda in that the movie discussed global warming quite a bit. But all in all a fun day.
These pictures are Hannah and her friends in our group getting ready for the movie to start. This is Jake, Makayla, and Hannah.
Hannah thought the movie was great until a Great White Shark from Australia's Barrier Reef came into the picture. We both took off our 3-D glasses at that point.
This is a picture of me in the exhibit where you learn efficient ways to lift weight. You sit in a seat attached to a pole and then lift yourself up the pull by pulling on a rope. So your little tidbit of trivia for the day is if you have to lift a large amount of weight use long ropes and multiple pulleys.
